With school in session, we have been pretty low-key around here.
Edison enjoys getting the monthly Big Backyard magazine and now can actually read it. Thanks Auntie Deborah!
We had a lovely dinner with Chris, Meg, Dillon & Liam.
Amazing sunset! This fall has actually been pretty spectacular. I think it only rained one day. Of course it was the day of Edison's first ever field trip and ride on a school bus. They went on the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry, played games on the Peninsula side but came back early due to the rain and had ice cream on the ferry. Edison gave it rave reviews though and is looking forward to the October field trip.
We finally had some time to spend in our yard and realized our veggies had gone crazy! Check out these green beans!
The cherry tomatoes never got caged and were thus - everywhere.
The zucchini had grown to an incredible size. We ended up having quite the harvest!
We read books with Granddaddy Herbert.
Had friends over for a nice campfire.
Alton is now ready to cruise around - at only 9 months.
The kids found their Halloween costumes. Edison did want to be a giraffe (again) but we couldn't find him the costume on Ebay. But we did have this dinosaur costume as a hand-me-down from Cousin Harry and now Edison is pretty excited about it. He walks around roaring, clinching his hands into fists, and stomping his feet - calling himself a "T-Rex!" Charlotte wants to be a dinosaur too - but c'mon, the strawberry costume is ADORABLE! So we've convinced her she is a Strawberry-Saurus Rex and now she is happy with that.
Halloween should be fun this year!
