The coldest streak of weather that I can remember hit Washington the week after Christmas. Two degrees was the lowest temperature I recorded at the cabin. Brrrr! The icicles off of the cabin are epic right now. The skiing at Stevens is disappointing as they don't have enough staff to groom the mountain or run the lifts so it is only half open right now with even the Big Chief chair not operational. However, the snow quality is amazing since it has been so darn cold and the groomers are fast and squeaky. It was fun to meet up with Jessica and Nick to ski and then hot tub after.
