A Visit from Floyd and Kathie to the Cabin

Reed has been very smiley lately. He is rapidly picking up new skills such as eating baby food, rolling over, playing independently in his bouncer, and grabbing toys. He is getting his first bottom tooth and is trying to stand up while holding onto furniture, though he is not quite capable of that yet. He is also still working on sitting up by himself.
And - best of all, he is getting chubby! Eating baby food three times a day has done wonders for Reed. He has switched to nursing five times a day, rather than eight, and has now switched to taking two naps a day and sleeping through the night (except for one feeding at two in the morning). All of this has made mama very happy!

Floyd and Kathie came to visit us at the cabin. The snow has just about gone from our property. We had a wonderful tour of the upper valley and Leavenworth, especially enjoying the sunshine.
Then we went to the Sleeping Lady for a yummy lunch.
We walked to the swings across the bridge...
and Reed got his first turn in a swing!
Reed wants to play with steering wheel. But it will still be a long time until he can drive.

MARCH - A Visit from Aunt Karen

Happy brothers! I got them coordinating jammies - finally fulfilling a longstanding wish!

Karen came out to the cabin last weekend. She was amazing with the kids and we had a blast sledding and playing outside.

Reed adores eating his baby food and I think he also really likes sitting at the table with the rest of us at meals. He is finally sorting out a regular schedule with nap times!
I took Reed to a three-day conference in the Tri-Cities with me this past week. It was way harder than I thought to balance his needs with the conference schedule. But as it was the state Activities Coordinator conference, I didn't want to miss it and I was glad I went. I presented a session on "ASB Justices, Electronic Voting, and How to Hold a Constitutional Convention to rewrite an ASB Constitution." It definitely doesn't sound interesting, but I actually had a full room and am glad I could share what I've learned on those topics.
Rather than doing the conference social hour on Thursday, Reed and I got some pool time. He loved it!

Grandaddy's Visit and Reed Has a Half Birthday and Eats Cereal

Reed ate rice cereal for the first time this past week. He actually did really well with it and is now gobbling it down.

We spent more time at the cabin. It snowed practically every day. We got a few feet over the last 15 days. Stevens pass had 15 feet in the same amount of time! Crazy!
Granddaddy cuddled with Reed and had some great bonding time.

Janine set up a really cool activity for the kids. They traced their bodies and then painted them - they had a BLAST. Charlotte was so excited to bring hers to show and tell.

This past weekend we drove into Wenatchee and toured the Rocky Reach Dam on the Columbia River that generates our electricity. It was actually really cool. We were the first visitors of the season that opened March 1st and we got a fun door prize. Then we went to the Pybus Public Market and ate a yummy lunch at South.

Reed is showing off this super duper outfit from Tina - future sailor for sure.
