We kicked off the Halloween fun on Friday with a party at Charlotte's school. Her class is full of awesome kids and parents and it was really fun to visit for the afternoon.
The highlight is the parade - the kids march on a route through most of the classrooms. Once they get back to their classroom, the parade keeps going by and they get to see the other children and their costumes. It is fun to know friends in other classes and to high five and wave when passing by.
On Halloween we kept local - trick or treating right on the top of our hill with Natalie and Aaron, Lyla and Andy. I seriously underestimated how much fun the kids would have trick or treating. Last year they only lasted about 30 minutes. This year, they didn't want to stop and were out for almost an hour-and-a-half - in the rain. It was super fun to go around our neighborhood and get to greet our neighbors and friends. Charlotte's teacher even answer the door at one of the houses - who knew?! Afterwards we had 5 families over for an impromptu Halloween party. We are really starting to feel like part of a community here and it feels really good.
