Boys State Swim Meet

Charlotte and I went to the Boys State Swim Meet Prelims today to cheer on Edison and the entire Shorecrest Swim Team. We are so proud of Edison for achieving his goals of making it to the State Swim Meet and breaking the 5:00 in his 500 FR. He swam his second best time ever today and finished #19 in 3A State. Not bad for a freshman! What an amazingly welcoming and supportive team he gets to be part of at Shorecrest! And SC has set themselves up for some great swims at finals! In fact, the team placed 5th overall (and if it wasn't for a questionable DQ in the 200 FR R prelims, it would have been second). Thanks to Coaches Scott & Jenny for creating a fabulous team and leading an incredible season!

 

Rebecca's Birthday Part 2, Valentine's Day, More Basketball

Rebecca's birthday part 2 featured a VIP party at Prom Date Mix Tape's Valentine's show. It was super fun to get dressed up and dance it out and celebrate this very special woman!

I don’t have a romantic love this year to celebrate with a Valentine. But, I have received some thoughtful cards and lovely flowers from co-workers and students this past week and my daughter made the sweetest heart shaped, pink waffles as a surprise Valentines breakfast.

It is helpful to be reminded that I matter ( that we each matter!) and what I am able to do in my work and for my children, friends, and family matters. Isn’t that what we are all seeking? The meaning of life - that we matter and we can make the lives of those we love better through our actions and kindness? LOVE IS A VERB!

 

Edison's First Districts Swim Meet - Season Goals Are Met!

Wow! Edison is going to the State Meet in the 500 Free! And the Shorecrest team are District Champions!!!He just swam out of his mind at Districts - dropped 11 seconds and broke the 5:00 barrier - going 4:58 and finished 4th! So proud of all his hard work and dedication this season - it is paying off!!! And I had a mini reunion with former high school teammates turned coaches - Rita and Tracy! Also got a little teary with Katie reminiscing about our freshman year District Swim meet while we cheered on our freshmen boys. Shout out to great coaches and an awesome program !!
