A Day at the Beach

We spent an afternoon out on the boat last week with our friend Matt & his daughter Grace. Edison & Grace had a blast playing with the driftwood.

Four Generations

Catching up with Charlotte

Charlotte has been getting her baths in our big kitchen sink these days. She'll outgrow it soon enough, but until then, we'll keep the baby shampoo on the counter.

Orca Whales!

Wow! Check out our close encounter with a pod of orca whales in the San Juan Islands today. It was breathtaking! You MUST SEE the incredible video!!!

My Little Girl - Growing Up!

Now I know why people give me weird looks when I walk by them. I guess we do make quite a scene and I literally have my hands full. This was taken by my friend Sarah at Coulon Park in Renton - we had a blast. What a great park!

Here is Charlotte with her boyfriend Ollie (now 4.5 mos). They had a nice morning doing side-by-side activity gym moves.


Edison is now sleeping in a toddler bed (since he can climb out of his crib). We are still working out the kinks - most nights he does make it under the blanket. But when I checked on him last Wednesday, it was clear he'd stayed up late reading his Barney book and then fallen asleep in that funny position.


She is definitely a giggler now. She had her two month check up Wednesday and is 90% for height and weight (13.5 lbs and 24"). The doctor is impressed with how she is thriving! Sometimes we're so busy here we don't always notice the little changes in Charlotte, but she can hold up her head on her own and can roll over. She can also sit by herself in the "Bumbo" chair. I can't believe how much she has grown in these past 10 weeks!

August - San Juans

We are taking portraits at the studio this week. They suggested having Edison practice holding Charlotte. I think he is doing a great job. He also LOVES holding Charlotte. He sits on the couch, pats the seat next to him and asks for her.


We took the kids on their first overnight camping trip last weekend. We went to James Island in the San Juans. It was a "boat in only" state park with a few primitive camp sites. Luckily our friends Matt, Lisa, Robin and James came with us so we were able to have some help! It was a great island, fun to explore and the whole trip was a success (minus the cool weather). We slept in a big tent with the kids - Edison in his own sleeping bag. We are excited it went to so well and are looking forward to more adventures.

Charlotte is sleeping through the night now (yippy!) and has a lot more awake time during the day. She really likes sitting up on the couch. She is also laughing and I just adore her giggles! She has also now grown into the next size of clothes (3-6 months). I can't believe it!
