Pre-Christmas Fun

The last week of school before Winter Vacation was festive and full of projects being completed. The kids impressed me with their ability to focus on school and reading all week.

This was Charlotte completing her Ozobot track challenge.

We decided to have a "Pre-Christmas" on December 17 as that was the last night the kids were with me until December 27. It was a special night and the kids got to help plan their favorite "special meal" (Pagliachi pizza) and Christmas dessert (moose tracks ice cream pie after a 30-minute ordeal of decision making at the grocery store) and we lit the advent candles. We also went on a Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt walk after dinner and found all sorts of cool displays on our list. The kids were good sports about putting on nice clothes for the special occasion and we got a few nice pictures. Finally, the kids each got to pick one present to open (the biggest!) and enjoy that. Reed got a "Swurfer" swing to hang in the tree in the backyard, Charlotte got a punching stand, and Edison got a "Ripstick" which is a modified version of a skateboard. Fun times!

So fierce! We'll have to get her lessons!

After school on Friday I enjoyed a mini-concert from Edison and Charlotte who were playing songs together - she on the recorder and he on the piano. Loved it!
I got some good skiing in at the beginning of winter break. My favorite day was when I randomly ran into two friends from work in my first two lift lines: Trent and Rob. We ended up skiing all morning and having a lot of fun!!!
