John Day Raft Trip -Day 2

John Day River Float - Day 2: Homestead Rapids to Big Bend. Not a cloud in the sky made for a delightful float and hot enough that the kids had fun swimming a lot of the time. We continued our audiobook even though we left the speaker at the campsite. 

We found a nice camp in the Big Bend area. It had some shade - definitely needed as it was about 95F, and it had a big back eddy next to a segment of fast downstream current that was fun but safe for the kids to play around in. Plus, when it cooled down a bit, hiking up the canyon hills was really awesome. Another starry night with Venus in the sky. Nothing beats river life.
