John Day River Trip - Day 3: Big Bend to the take out at Clarno. This was a SLOW day. But luckily, at least we didn't have to battle any headwinds. We plodded our way downstream past some ancient basalt column cinder cone cores and chatted with some pack rafters who'd been doing the same stretch. Reed worked on his back flips. It was a nice morning. But it was also great to hop off the river, get all our stuff shoved into the car and head home. It took a couple hours longer than usual on Memorial Day, but we made it. Just in time to get through the massive gear pile and all take showers before bedtime. Solid weekend getaway! Can't wait to do another river trip with my crew!
