Karen and Frank's Wedding!

What a lovely day to celebrate Karen and Frank's wedding! We got to share the occasion with the extended family from here and Minnesota. The kids were totally included and there were so many thoughtful details. It was a lovely start to Karen and Frank's married life together. There was a nice cocktail hour before the start of the wedding when we got to visit and play.

The beautiful bride, Karen, with her father.
The stunning bridesmaids, flower girl, Mary, and ring bearer, Kirsten's son, Gus.

The married couple: Karen and Frank Leamer!

On Sunday morning we stopped at Multnomah Falls before heading back to Seattle. We wished we had time to hike to the top, but there were many errands to do to get ready for Charlotte's birthday!

Exploring Beacon Rock and Columbia Gorge

Before the wedding we headed over to Beacon Rock State Park to explore. It was an absolutely beautiful day by the river.

Beacon Rock is the core of an old volcano. After the giant floods came down stream when the Ice Dam broke and Lake Missoula washed out across eastern Washington, the rest of the volcano got washed away and only the core was left behind. It stands totally by itself next to the river and has been a landmark for river travel for thousands of years.

Skamania Lodge for Karen and Frank's Wedding

We traveled with Nana down to the Columbia River Gorge this weekend for Karen and Frank's wedding at Skamania Lodge. It was absolutely beautiful  and we were reminded of how much we love this part of the state.

The kids' favorite part was the pool, complete with outdoor hot tub.

After the swim, we played bocce and football on the back lawn before heading to the rehearsal dinner.

Reed's First Concert!

Reed's Early Preschool Class had their debut this week. As his Granddaddy Herbert reported, "Reed didn't sing a wrong note!" Which is a polite way to say - Reed didn't sing any notes! He spent most of the concert with his fingers in his mouth. But he and his pal Mia were still adorable.

Charlotte's kindergarten friend, Sammy, has a little sister in Reed's class. The big girls had fun cheering on the younger siblings.
'Tis the season of backyard barbeques. It is super fun to get the neighborhood gang together for a Friday night social.
Meanwhile Reed and Joseph were rocking out inside.

A Weekend at the Cabin - Baseball, Rafting and Hiking

We went to the Mariners game on Friday with a bunch of people from work. It was super fun!
We headed over to the cabin after the game to meet up with friends. Meg, Chris, Michael, and a couple friends from Eben's work went rafting while I took the kids to the Pioneer Museum in Cashmere. It was a little crazy, but do-able. We walked .7 mile to the museum, explored, then walked back and had lunch at the park by the take out.
The museum has an amazing outdoor area where they have moved old cabins from the area. They set them up as different buildings in a pioneer town complete with artifacts. The kids had a scavenger hunt sheet to complete and ran from cabin to cabin peeking inside.

The crew... a few fun episodes of swimmers after surfing the boat in Rodeo Hole. The Wenatchee is very fun at 10,000 cfs!

S'mores!
On Sunday Eben and I took the kids on a hike to Lanham Lake. The trailhead starts at the base area for the Stevens Pass Nordic Center. We ended up encountering quite a lot of snow on the way up and it was steeper than we anticipated. But the kids did a great job and Charlotte said she LOVED it!

Trillium! A sign of spring!
