Napa #1: Long Weekend with Sara, Scott and Dotty

It was amazing to spend a long weekend in California with my friend Sara. We started teaching History together at Shorecrest in 2004. Woah! She is now an assistant principal in the San Jose area and is also a newlywed with Scott and they are ridiculously cute together. Her cousin Dotty also flew down for the merrymaking for the weekend. Friday night kept Sara company during her admin duties at the football game and then drove straight through to a wonderful VRBO in Napa proper.

Scott and Sara are very much "wine people" and have memberships at multiple wineries in the valley. That means they can set up amazing tasting experiences for us to enjoy. Dolce and its amazing cellars and grounds was our first stop on Saturday morning.

Then we went to its sister winery, Nickel and Nickel which was the ranch property.

We finished off the tastings at the cave at Miner winery in the afternoon, rested up a bit, and then went out to an amazing dinner at Cole's Chop House.
