I went on a three-day backpacking adventure with Heidi up the Teanaway drainage to Navaho Peak and Earl Peak. It was delightful and challenging and so rewarding. I also realize how old and relatively heavy all my gear is... so now I am making a wishlist to update my 25-year old equipment.
This is the meadow where we ended up camping.
We had to walk do what felt like a moonwalk above the meadow up to Navajo Pass and eventually Navaho Peak.
Beautiful ridgeline. At the top of Navaho Peak we were rewarded with views of the backside of the Enchantments Peaks. It was stunning!
We found a lovely campsite in the meadow and had a gourmet dinner - Heidi's special: Annie's white cheddar macaroni and cheese with yellow curry dal mixed in. Yum!
Evening stroll and reflections.
The next morning we did a day hike to Earl Peak. We went through lovely meadows and had some great views, including of Mt. Rainier.
Relaxing back at camp!
