We met up with Reed's friend, Adrian, and his family on Monday and skied together. It was a lot of fun to ski with friends and really satisfying to see Reed be able to ski with a friend who skis with the same speed and skill as Reed. Also they had a ton of fun and pushed each other down the slopes. We skied off McConkey's chair together all morning and did one trip on Three Kings down the terrain park. Then we headed back to the condo for lunch, games, and swimming. So fun!
The Park City base area is nice but the main action is in the town off Main Street.
On Tuesday the kids and I got on the mountain before 9:00 and skied on some new chairs and trails, including Silverlode. Unfortunately, Charlotte dropped her pole on our last run over there and we had to do a lot of traversing through the trees to stay high enough to get it. It ended up being quite an adventure. Not only did she find her pole, but we found the best powder of our trip.
Then we headed over to McConkey's again as it is less busy of a chair. The kids dropped into McConkey's Bowl which was a pretty fun and aggressive run.
Can you spot Charlotte in the center of this picture?
After lunch we headed over to check out the 2002 Olympic Venue that housed the bobsled, luge and ski jump competitions. They also had a cool museum from the 2002 Olympics and a neat and interactive ski museum. The ski jump pool practice area was pretty interesting.
