Charlotte's District Swim Meet

Prelims Summary: Charlotte had a great district prelims meet and has set herself up for some awesome races tomorrow in the 100 Free and 200 Free despite being sick this week. Her 200 & 400 Free Relay teams both dropped time and looked super fast. There were a ton of phenomenal swims on the SC team. It’s going to be an exciting meet tomorrow!!!

Plus, it was special to share this joy with family! Three generations of swimmers!

It was great to see the Cascade High School Swim Team mini-reunion with Tracy, Rita and Danielle, too! Coach Shoup's legacy lives on!

Finals Summary: We have a District Champion in the house!!! Charlotte won the 3A District 1 200 Free with a personal record of 1:59.80 smashing her previous time by two seconds and finally going under the elusive 2:00 minutes. And her relay team won the 200 Free Relay in a very close and exciting race - Charlotte split a PR of 25.02 as the anchor! The Shorecrest swimmers and divers had an awesome meet and ended up finishing only 10 points behind Edmonds-Woodway for 2nd place at Districts - something that didn't seem possible at the start of the season. They far exceeded anyone's expectations! Charlotte also had a PR in the 100 Free, swimming a 55.21 and dropping another half second off her time from the day before. She finished in third place in that and is moving onto state in that event. The meet came down to the last race - if Shorecrest could win the 4x100 Free Relay and EW finished third, SC would tie for District Champs. It just wasn't meant to be. Shorewood dropped 10 seconds and won that event. Shorecrest dropped time and qualified for state with a third place finish.I'm so impressed by Charlotte and her teammates for an incredible season and it isn't over yet! Onward to state next weekend!
