Shorecrest Homecoming

Homecoming came early this year and our students rose to the challenge. So did the staff. As we do each year, we open the assembly with a staff dance. Brett has choreographed and organized it the last five years and this was his last hurrah in that department. It was a lot of fun – and a good reminder of why getting out of one’s comfort zone is important – the kids love seeing us grown ups make fools of ourselves and we did not disappoint. Our committee organizing the assembly ran a two-hour assembly so smooth that we were on time with our planning agenda to the minute. Not to mention the student performances were off-the-charts amazing and the crowd was really into it! After all the planning, coordinating, details, set up, supervision, and clean up – I am left exhausted but happy. It was a terrific way to kick off another incredible year at Shorecrest!

The students selected really amazing humans for the royalty court this year.

Saturday night - Homecoming Dance chaperone crew & the coat check scene in the back gym.

We broke a record for dance attendance- 958 students – and had a former student (Royce David) DJ for us. We did extras like a phototainment booth and a caricature artist that made the night feel fun and special for everyone, and had many other activities like Wii, Ping Pong, Giant Jenga, and a Patio Lounge – so even the non-dancers had fun.
