Skiing, School, Swimming, and Being Silly

This is the one-year anniversary of schools closing and COVID starting to hit here hard. It is so nice to be coming out of that low point. We made our own fun at the cabin: skiing, dancing up our road, and enjoying the trees.

Meanwhile, back at home, the kids are playing Magic cards together - Reed can hold his own now, which is really cool to see.

I got my second COVID vaccine shot - Pfizer. Felt a little slow the next day and had a puffy face on left side. So glad that went away by the evening. Every day moving closer to normal.

We have to wait for about 20 minutes from the time Edison starts swimming until it is time for Reed's turn. He outdid himself last Monday and caught a quick catnap.

Tech kiddo.

We are paying attention to the end of the term and I have been helping the kids keep track of assignments, due dates, grades, etc. Edison was particularly proud of doing a bunch of extra credit and earning a 137% in Science! And it is fun to see Edison doing science experiments during class in our kitchen.

We ran a very abbreviated sports schedule with fall sports going from mid-February to end of March. The grand finale was the Shorecrest-Shorewood Rotary Cup. It was really cool to cheer on the Scots (50-6!) and watch our performance teams at the half. So great to be a part of the night!

Then back to our happy spot- the cabin. It is light enough after dinner now for walks and sunset swinging at the church. The air smells amazing and reinvigorates me every time.

After a morning of cleaning around the cabin and raking all the pine needles out of the driveway, we hit Stevens for some sunny, spring skiing. If you came for the snow quality, you'd be disappointed, but the mild temperatures, sunshine, and views for days were worth it. We skied 32 days this year! Great way to end our season!
