Lake Valhalla and 85 degrees at the Pumpkin Patch

Smoky on the way out to the cabin - this was driving through Skykomish area where the Bolt Creek fire was still smoldering by Highway 2 and burning north of the road.
On the drive over, the kids and I hiked on the Pacific Crest Trail off Stevens Pass. We ended up at Lake Valhalla, a lovely alpine lake with a really nice beach area and rocks for jumping. Reed jumped in and swam in mid-October!! Crazy! The fall colors were stunning even if muted a bit by some smoke.
We powered through winter prep at the cabin: log splitting, raking, ski gear try-on. And topped it all off with some delightful soaks in the hot tub.
On Sunday, stopped at Bailey's pumpkin patch on the way home before an impromptu pool party at Aqua Club. Solid weekend!! But definitely doesn’t feel like October!
