Finishing up 2024 with a belated Christmas with the kids and Nana and lots of time skiing at the cabin with the kids and Sadie. The only bad part is that Reed has an eye infection that required an ER trip at 3:00 AM a couple days ago - but the antibiotics are working and the swelling is down. Praise be for science!
I have so much gratitude for my family and our life together. My house is full of laughter and that is a gift. The kids didn't want to travel for Winter Break this year which bummed me out. But then I remembered that the entire reason I have this cabin is for spending time with family and friends and the proximity to doing all the activities we love, like skiing! So, that was a great reminder for me and we are having a wonderful vacation.
Reflecting on 2024... Some of the hardest challenges I have ever faced have come this past year. I’m still standing. At times I didn’t know how that would be possible. What I’ve learned is to be a better person as I go through these difficulties and to have more empathy for my friends and neighbors as they face their own challenges in their lives. I’ve also learned that I can be stronger than I think I am.
There has also been incredible happiness in 2024. I am so grateful for all the beautiful moments of this year. My heart is full of joy and hope! As 2024 comes to a close, I want to make sure to delight in the successes and moments of growth from this past year. I am optimistic about 2025! I think it is going to be an absolutely brilliant year!!!
