Indepence Day - Civic Club and Lake Union

Independence Day was overcast and cool in Seattle this year. So our gathering at the Civic Club was a little subdued and we didn't do much swimming or tubing off the boat - except for a brief waterskiing jaunt by the men of the group.
After dinner we met up with Michael and headed down the lake, through the Montlake Cut, to Lake Union to watch the big fireworks show.

It was totally impressive from the boat and really cool to be amidst all the boaters, kayakers, and people in their houseboats. What fun! We raced out of there when it was over and made it back to our boat ramp by 11:30. Not too shabby - and probably way faster than driving. Definitely coming back next year - hopefully in warmer weather!
