The Cabin Gets a Covered Deck!

The heavy snow this year pushed the railings off the deck. So.... we decided to fix that problem by entirely rebuilding the deck and adding a roof on top. What were we thinking?! The project ended up being a lot more time consuming than we estimated. Luckily we had Eben's friend Paul who stepped up and helped out for several days. It is turning out really well and we are nearly finished!

Heidi helped me stain all the tongue and groove for the ceiling - huge thanks!

While Eben and Paul did the lion's share of the work, the kids and I entertained ourselves with baking projects, reading, going swimming and goofing off. This is Charlotte's first chapter book that she read all by herself!
Playing with the kayak after Lake Wenatchee...

 At the swimming hole...
Reed played so hard he fell asleep before dinner.
