Homecoming at Shorecrest

Homecoming is a special time at Shorecrest. We start with a Sunday work day in which the students come in and make incredible posters, murals, decorate their stairwells, and practice their skits. All week we have dress up days, class meetings, and lunch competitions. I love that the staff are super spirited during this time, too! The big show is the assembly on Friday that includes a royalty court, performance by many student groups, as well as chants and skits by each grade. It is an incredible time where we all come together as a school in our gym. The Friday football game - which includes recognizing students from our feeder elementary and middle schools at halftime - is always fun, as is our Saturday dance. This year we had more than 1000 students at our dance - a record turn out! Just goes to show that we are working hard to reach out and involve all kinds of kids through our activities and leadership program and it is working!!!
