What was supposed to be a two-hour drive from Bryce to Zion turned into 3.5 after a rockslide closed Route 9 at the historic Mt. Carmel-Zion tunnel. Sigh. But we made it to Zion in the mid-afternoon with plenty of time to ride the shuttle through the valley to the Temple of Sinawava stop. We hopped out there and did the Riverwalk hike up to the start of the Narrows section of the Virgin River. It was a beautiful fall walk with a bunch of people on it. It was interesting to see the people who were outfitted in drysuits to hike up through the river and into the Narrows section - bucket list for sure!
The start of the Narrows.
Our hotel pool view was magical. We spent a good amount of time relaxing and soaking it all in at the end of the day. Followed by cards, dinner, and another WWII movie: Bedknobs and Broomsticks.
