SEPTEMBER: Reed’s Birthday, School Starts, Edison is Playing Football, Our New Truck, Swim Across Lake Washington

 It is the time of year to re-launch back into school and welcome our new students at the Fall Kick-Off and Activity Fair. That went well and I always enjoy seeing Charlotte perform with the Flag Team.

Edison started senior year with a tradition called “Senior Sunrise.” He and his buddies watched the sun come up over Log Boom Park and also hopped into Lake Washington before going to school. 

The first day of school was also Reed’s 13th Birthday! We celebrated with a fantastic dinner at Applebees and discussed all the things about their new classes and the new school year. 

Edison started playing football for the high school team this year and is really enjoying the camaraderie with his teammates. He plays just about the whole game on the offensive and defensive line and only comes out for kick returns. His team won their first game on the road and it is fun to cheer them on. 

We had a surprise when Eben said he would no longer allow Edison to use a vehicle. So I ended up buying a truck to tow the camper and Edison is using it this year with an option to buy in the future. He picked it out and it is enormous and loud and bright red and is such a great fit for Edison.

Another year and another swim across the lake - I was the first adult to finish this year :-)
