Sailing in the San Juans with the Adams Family - Part 1

Day One - Everett to Watmough Bay on the south end of Lopez Island.
This year we were so excited to head back out on the sailboat with Chris and Meg and their boys - this time for a whole week. The extra time let us make the trek up from Everett up to the San Juans. Everyone was thrilled to be back out on the sailboat!

Dinner with the ten of us in the cockpit.

Washing dishes while the kids watch a movie before bed. So....many...dishes.... next year the kids will have to be in charge of the clean up!
The guys watched the kids and hiked around the beach at Watmough Bay while Meg and I went running. Unfortunately we made a wrong turn and ended up running 8 miles. Wow! But we did it! Meanwhile, "the littles" entertained themselves in the dinghy.

Day Two: Watmough Bay to Spencer Spit, Lopez Island
We had a super short run up the east side of Lopez to Spencer Spit. The kids (and the grown ups) enjoyed a beautiful beach day!

Edison took a turn driving the dinghy. He loved it!

Dinner time!

Reed and Jack are now two peas in a pod. They had a blast together on this trip - doing lots of pretend games and generally causing a ruckus.
Day Three: Spencer Spit to Friday Harbor, via Turn Island.
Today we explored Turn Island State Park - a first for us. There is a trail along the entire coast of this fairly small island just outside of Friday Harbor. There are a ton of beautiful vistas and campsites.

Happy sailors on our way to Friday Harbor for the night.
