Sailing in the San Juans with the Adams Family - Part 2

Day Four: Friday Harbor to Rosario Resort, Orcas Island
We explored Friday Harbor in the morning - complete with a taste test of bakery items for morning snack. Friday Harbor is quaint and bustling as always. Edison's wish came true when he got to peruse the boats along the docks while the rest of us went for a walkabout.

Spotting orca whales along the south end of Orcas Island!
We saw four whales playing - two adults and two children. It was magical indeed as these creatures are amazing!

Rosario Resort - YAY!

We all had fun at the pool. Reed was super confident and was swimming doggy paddle all over the place.

Reed was so active that he overdid it and fell asleep in the middle of snack time.

Day Five: Exploring Rosario and Orcas Island
We went for a hike up to Cascade Lake with the kids in the morning. We came across a family doing a little bridge jumping at Rainbow Bridge and the kids were enthralled. We've made plans to come back in a future year with swimsuits and towels and give it a try. We hit the pool again in the afternoon and had a blast.

Shuffleboard isn't just for cruise ships!

Day Six: Rosario to Langley, Whidbey Island
We stayed on the breakwater the second night and were treated to a parade of seaplanes running in and out. The funny thing is realizing they are heading back to the north end of Lake Washington, just a couple miles from our house in LFP.

Meg and I took the kids on a photo shoot on the grounds of Rosario while the guys went running.

At noon, it was time to shove off in order to time our passage through Deception Pass at slack tide.

We were at Langley after dinner, in time for ice cream and a beautiful sunset!

Day Seven: Langley to Everett
We had a short run out of Langley over to Everett in the morning, packed up, and cleaned the boat. It was a lovely trip and we can't wait to do it again!
