Spring Break 2: Maine, Portsmouth NH, The North Shore: Salem, Marblehead, and Swampscott

Today was our big road trip to the North day. After a hotel breakfast (still the kids' favorite), I started out walking to get the rental car. Unfortunately the place I rented it was closed with no warning (how on earth does that happen?!) and I had to walk to the next place. 5000 steps before 9:30 LOL and got to see the south end of Boston Common that we missed yesterday. But we finally got the car and then headed up to Maine on our way to add a couple more states to the list.

Made it to Kittery and checked out Fort McClary which was pretty cool.

Then over the Piscataqua River to New Hampshire and Fort Stark.

After that we went to Portsmouth for lunch. I love the vibe of this town.

Then we headed south to Salem and the Witch Museum. I don't know that I would visit again, but it was interesting and something to say we did.

Then we drove to Marblehead Neck and out to Chandler Hovey Park.

In front of the Corinthean Yacht Club...

And posing with street signs....

Out to Phillips Beach to end the tour....
