Spring Break - L.A., Part 3: Disneyland / Friends / Parade (24,000 steps)

It was a fun treat to go to Disneyland with my Shorecrest teacher friends! We were all there to either watch our kids in the parade that afternoon, or were helping on the trip in another capacity (Brandy and Brady drove the instrument truck down all the way from Shoreline). I was there for the rope drop and quickly headed to the new Star Wars Resistance ride - although it really is more of an experience than just a "ride." After a turn on the Pirates of the Caribbean, I met up with Crystal, Alicia, Brady and Brandy for the Millennium Falcon ride and then the Haunted Mansion and Winnie the Pooh. I was then able to connect with Charlotte and the SC Flag Team who were getting prepped for the parade. I am finding that if I want to see her, I just need to offer something like... "can I see you and bring you lunch from Starbucks?" And then the answer is usually, "yes!" Which just makes my mama heart so happy. I'm so glad she is able to have this experience!

The parade was that afternoon, starting at Small World and finishing at Main Street. The contingent included: Shorecrest cheer, highland dance, bagpipers, marching band, and the flag team. They looked amazing (and hot) and sounded great! I was so proud to watch Charlotte be part of this - all the hard work and nights of practice really paid off!

In other news, I ran into a former student/ ASB senator, Mikayla Sincavage, class of 2016 which was so much fun! I also tried a dole pineapple whip for the first time and loved it! I flew home Sunday night and got one blissful night of sleep in my bed.
