It has been fun to do some late season hiking with my cousin Karen. This Saturday we visited the Ashland Lakes and Beaver Plant Lake in the snow with Luna. This trail was mostly comprised of boardwalks which were a little tricky to navigate in the snow. We were fortunate to have a beautiful, sunny day to enjoy all of the scenery.
It all came to an end, however, at the far end of Upper Ashland Lake. The boardwalk was underwater. We scouted around it, but even when we got back to the trail, it was only to find the trail under a foot of water. So we turned around and enjoyed a lovely hike out and have vowed to return in dry weather.
Later that night I visited Sara and Scott in their brand new, very luxe RV that they keep at a cool community in the foothills of the mountains. It was great to see then and I'm so happy for them and their new adventures!
