Thanksgiving!

The kids continue to find ways to be creative and learn new things. Charlotte and Reed both enjoy drawing tutorials. This is fun one that Charlotte also added her own touches to.

Edison finished first semester of middle school last week. His report card came and he earned straight A's!!!! So proud of his hard work!

Then it was time to get ready for Thanksgiving. Charlotte made a pumpkin pie from scratch this year and created a 25-minute "how to" vlog of the whole thing to share with her class. It was really fun to see her in action and the pie turned out amazing!

The kids and I hosted a creative take on Thanksgiving: a walk followed by a dessert buffet. It was wonderful to have at least a small part of our family together for the occasion. It warmed my heart more than I expected and I'm so glad we did it.

Afterwards Nana joined us for a Thanksgiving feast featuring the "celebration roast" as centerpiece. Unfortunately it did not live up to it's name and will never be on our table again! Everything else was pretty great though and it was just fun to share the table.

We also did a Turkey Trot with the Birgelds and Masons on drizzley Thanksgiving morning. We went three miles and felt very proud of our efforts. Miles is a high school cross country coach and highlighted Harper and Charlotte for their amazing running. Edison made fresh pumpkin bread to share afterwards. So thankful for these lovely friends!
