DAY THREE: Park City 2024: Day 3 - Powder Day! We spent the day going all over The Canyons side again. We bumped into my LFP buddy Mike Vance and his friend Brian on the slopes. So fun.
The powder was incredible! We loved the steeps: Grande and Deschutes off of Tombstone Chair and 94 Turns and Magic Line off of 9990' Chair. The light snow turned to rain by the end of the day and visibility was awful, but we stayed until the end - got in a lot of runs and our biggest vertical yet - skied 50 miles in the process. Ooof! Definitely enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. Now watching Mama Mia 2, because, why not?!
DAY FOUR: Park City - Day 4 & Final Day. We were able to ski open-to-close again before our flight. Our goal was to ski every lift on both the Park City & Canyons sides. If only we had decided that was our goal a little earlier in the morning, we could have been more strategic about it. But it was a fun challenge and we did ski all the lifts on the Park City side and made it to about half the ones on Canyons. We got to see some parts of the mountain we'd never been to and we rode the gondola between the two areas. We also rode the Cabriolet open air gondola from the Canyons parking lot which Charlotte has been wanting to do for ages.
Though it was pretty warm on the mountain and there had been icy rain overnight, the powder was still in pretty good condition off the upper chairs of Jupiter and 9990'. I followed the kids everywhere on this day and we managed to rack up nearly 30,000' of vertical and over 50 miles skied. I am just happy to be keeping up with the kids on these runs, especially the double blacks. Charlotte tracked her top speed at 46 mph!
If you've never been to Park City to ski, I highly recommend it. We love all the different options and terrain and no lift lines while we were there. And there are a lot of other ski areas all within an hour drive or less if you really want to explore. Definitely worth some time exploring this beautiful area!
