Powder Highway: Day Seven - Powder Day Skiing at Revelstoke

We went to bed knowing powder was on the way and we were not disappointed! The snow was pretty heavy as it was just at the freezing mark. But it was still super fun to drop into powder runs about one foot deep. Trent and Kylee signed up for the First Tracks experience, going up an hour early, and said it was amazing. Rachelle, Keira and I were in line early for the gondola and were joined by many other eager skiers and riders.

We rode up the gondola fro the base at 1700’ up to 5500’ then headed over to the Stoke Chair and up to about 7600’ to access the South Bowl terrain and a ton of powder options. The glades are well thinned and the tree skiing is excellent. After a few runs, we headed to the tiny “Mackenzie Outpost” at the top of the gondola to warm up. Then we spent the rest of the day in the North bowl on the Ripper Chair, with each run being super fun and the lines diminishing each time we reloaded.

We skied a full day on Revelstoke and hope to come back. The lower half of the mountain was inaccessible due to low snow pack, so at some point it would be fun to do more.

The drive home that evening was a challenge, but do-able. After this long winter road trip, I’m happy to be home and will cherish the memories from this trip.
