The last weekend in July we organized a family-style camping trip to Lake Easton with our friends with kids: Matt & Lisa with Syd (13), Jeff & Viola with Xavier (10) and Izzy (5), and James & Robin with Skylar (8 months). Eben and I thought we had the biggest tent, but we were wrong - it ended up being the smallest (hiding in the back in this picture). The State Park insisted that we set up tents only on the tent pad, so we ended up all huddled up together.
We had two sites - one set up as the cooking and fire area while the other was the sleeping headquarters. Overall the camping trip was a success. The kids played really well together and after the kids were in bed, the adults had a fun time, too.
The mountain lake, just 15 miles east of Stevens Pass, was beautiful on the hot summer day. James and Robin brought a couple kayaks while Matt brought his canoe. But the water was too chilly for swimming.
Edison's favorite part of the weekend was playing washer toss with Izzy. He loved following her around all weekend in the woods and whenever she was out of view, he would ask where she was.
Edison likes playing games now. Whenever we are doing something, like kicking a ball back and forth, he excitedly says "we are playing a game!"
