We arrived in Bellingham on Friday afternoon to check into our sailboat. I took Charlotte and Edison to a playground while the guys went over the boat details. Charlotte was dressed like a little Dutch girl.
We chartered a 37' Hunter for a week with Eben's father, David. We enjoyed perfect weather the whole week - quite amazing, especially given this overall chilly summer.
Eben and his father in the cockpit.
It was surprisingly spacious and comfortable in the cabin.Edison really likes sailing and being on the water. He did a great job wearing his life jacket whenever he was in the cockpit.
The room in the cockpit was a little lacking. But it was still a fun space to lounge.
We ended up putting the kids and myself in the aft cabin. Thank goodness we could fit Charlotte's pack and play in there. The kids actually slept pretty well for the trip. They ended up taking great naps in the morning when we would turn the motor on and head to a new locale. Do you see Charlotte sleeping?
This is how we ended up feeding Charlotte on the boat.
The kids liked steering and being on the boat.
Here's a great beach shot of Edison at our first stop, Sucia Island. It is a popular destination for sailboats, as you can see by all the dinghies on this beach in Echo Bay.
