I am so proud of the accomplishments of these two and achieving their goals at Districts on Day 1!! Edison has advanced to State in the Shot Put and Charlotte has advanced in the Discus! I love cheering them on! Shout out to SC Throw Coaches Doug Sherman and Laura Johnston!!!
Friday didn't feature the breakthrough performance Edison was hoping for, but he had a very solid field series and finished second at districts throwing 160’9” in the discus. He is moving onto state and looking forward for one more shot this season. Charlotte had a great finish in the javelin with this season best of 99’9”. It was great seeing all the competitors at the district meet, cheering for Shorecrest, and seeing some great performances!
At the Team Banquet before State, both Edison and Charlotte were recognized as “Thrower of the Year.” Edison also got a shout out for shattering the previous discus record by almost 3’. Thank you to our fantastic coaches and supportive teammates for a truly outstanding season.
