The first week of summer was pretty fantastic. It was the first Music Monday down at Sheridan Beach and Amy I went down to hear some nice jazz tunes and look at Mt. Rainier across the lake. The kids and I went boating with Betsy and both Reed and Charlotte got up on water skis for the first time! I saw a little band from Squamish BC, Surf Hat, who had a fun show at the Sunset Tavern. They have great vibes and funky guitar and keyboard riffs. Aqua Club had its first dual meet of the summer against Blue Ridge. It is so fun to see the Aqua Club family again and see how big all the kids are getting since last year! The kids all looked great on the water and also like they were having a great time with their friends. I think they're ready for another good season. I went hiking with Jess and Amy to Goat Lake off the Mountain Loop Highway, it was a pretty gradual 11.5 mile loop to a beautiful, large lake with a glacier and waterfalls at the far end. The drizzle just added to the vibe since we had the right gear for the wet. Not pictured: Reed broke a window and he and I watched some YouTube videos and fixed it ourselves - from custom cutting the glass to sealing it up with glazier's putty.
