The 3A State Track meet was a tough one for the Phillips crew. Both Edison and Charlotte threw way under their usual performance marks.They each finished 10th in discus, which sounds fabulous on its own, but they both had set much higher goals for themselves for this meet. Edison also finished 12th in shot put. Sports teaches a lot of lessons and sometimes they are hard to accept. Charlotte got back into a good headspace by cheering on her fellow WESCO throwers who went 2-3-4 at state. Edison rebounded with a great performance in the State Hammer Meet. This was my first time seeing him throw hammer and it was pretty cool to watch. He set a PR and broke the 50 meter mark with a 50.29 meter throw. That earned him 7th in state - and this meet doesn’t break out into school classification sizes, so it truly is 7th in state. This was a great way to finish out the season!
