We had an unexpectedly beautiful, sunny, warm Thursday and Friday of Midwinter Break. It was the perfect time to do a hike at Heybrook Lookout on our way to the cabin. I cannot say enough about how satisfying it was to see the kids scramble up rocks, gleefully hike uphill, balance across logs, and find joy in the experience of being in nature on a sunny day. There was zero complaining about the walk! And the pay-off on this hike was incredible on a blue-sky day, we could see forever from the old fire lookout!
