Charlotte's Track District Prelims and Edison's Track District Finals

Three days of track meets this week!

Charlotte did great at the Einstein dual meet and absolutely crushed it at District Prelims. At Prelims, she won the discus with a giant throw of 81'! She placed 2nd in the 400 meter dash with a new PR of 1:05.50 and only .25 behind the leader (that time would earn her a spot at high school districts). She is determined to go all out at Finals next week. Her relay team is chasing a school record and finished half a lap in front of the next team. It is so fun to watch the relay and cheer for Harper, Ella, and Emilia - all super athletic swimmers and runners. Charlotte also had a PR in shot put (22'8.5"), but it wasn't enough to make it to district finals. I love seeing her positive energy, big smiles, encouragement and high fives for teammates and competitors alike.

Edison competed in District 1 Finals on Friday. It was an honor to get to that level of competition and he was the only freshman to get to Districts in discus. He threw close to his personal best (130'), but it just wasn't enough to take down guys who had three years and 50 pounds on him. Edison handled the competition well, seemed to learn a lot from it, and had a positive attitude about the whole experience. What a great freshmen track & field season for Edison!
