Shorecrest Prom 2024 at the Seattle Art Museum! The Class of 2024 stepped out looking absolutely stunning! They walked the art galleries, posed at the Photo Booth, and danced hard. Everyone wore their smiles all night long. We chaperones did the same thing, including having a super fun dinner together beforehand. Because life is what you make it, so you might as well make it fun! I will miss this special group of students - they do know how to make the best of any situation.
At Shorecrest, we had our ASB-Leadership Banquet, welcomed the Class of 2028 with an assembly (including Charlotte and her friends), had Annual Day (like a Campus & Yearbook Day), Prom and our Senior Farewell this past week alone. One more big week at school to come with our seniors before graduation!
The final Friday of the year with seniors is when we do our "Caen Laida" (Moving Forward) Assembly at Shorecrest. It is a day that reminds me how much I love my profession. I am so appreciative of teaching here, with our deep traditions that honor excellence of character as well as achievement.
It felt like we all won an award to see Seth and Ronan selected for Senior Heart of the Highlander awards. I am grateful to see my own son be inspired by our values and the students who exemplify them.
I'm going to miss our ASB seniors who have worked hard for years to do the big and little things to make Shorecrest a kind, welcoming, inclusive and equitable school. Neela, Shiv, Kennedy and Sam - you will be missed. Meili, we are excited for next year with you as our ASB President! I even got to see two former ASB Presidents yesterday: Sophie Ziliak (2016) & Eunice Back (2022)! I love hearing how these amazing humans are making their paths through the world!
