Happy Halloween

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and had a lot of fun. It was a beautiful day down in the Snohomish Valley.

Awww - Charlotte and the sunflowers!

Edison surveying the pumpkin options.

Today we went down to the Mill Creek Town Center for trick or treating. Sweet little bee.

Edison did not want to dress up for Halloween - I asked him every time we'd go into a store this past month. It wasn't until he saw this giraffe costume that he changed his mind. I think it was a brilliant choice on his part.

Edison wanted to hold Charlotte - you can tell he loves it.

All cuddled up.

Mid October

As of today, Charlotte is now 5 months old. She has begun to enjoy the Exersaucer. I think she likes her independence and the feel of her legs under her.

Edison has been nice enough to sit with her and show her how the toys work.

Eben and our friend Matt have replaced all the old aluminum windows on our house with cozy new vinyl models. There is a noticeable difference in the comfort of our house. But - it was a humongous project (as you can see here). I am very appreciative of their efforts.

Charlotte is spending more time on her tummy. She can roll both ways, but is better going back to tummy.

How on earth did my children both end up with blue eyes? Eben says his genes are just too potent....

The Children's Museum

One of the fun things about my job is that I get to bring Charlotte to work sometimes. Here we are at the Homecoming Football game, trying to coordinate the Halftime Show - which went pretty well all things considered.

Charlotte got dressed up for Grandada's birthday. She was very excited for the event!

Edison and Charlotte get along fabulously (so far). Hopefully it will last!

There is a great Children's Museum in Everett. I took the kids last Saturday to get them out of Eben's hair while he and Matt were working on swapping out all of our old aluminum windows for new, energy efficient vinyl windows. Quite a huge project! Anyway, they have a waterplay area inside a ferryboat that Edison enjoys - he really likes the water wheel!

Up on the roof of the museum, they have an archeological dig.

And a huge play area - Edison is in the dune buggy, bottom right. There is actually a great view of Puget Sound and the mountains from the top of the structure.

October - Charlotte, Meet Banana, Banana - Charlotte

Edison reading to Charlotte. Sometimes it is nice to stay in PJs until noon.

Woah - take a look at those big, baby blues!

I began by letting Charlotte lick the banana, but she ended up taking a few bites. Her first food! Check out the video!

Eben & Edison - my little twins.

Another PJ morning. I love Edison's big smile!

Go Patriots!

So Lovely It Demands a Frolic

I can't believe how beautiful my two children are!

Last Saturday, leaving West Seattle (see the Seattle skyline in the background). We headed west, over to Blake Island.

Blake Island is a state park. We had a nice picnic lunch with a view overlooking Mount Rainier and Puget Sound. As mentioned in the title, it was such a beautiful day and the island was so magical, I felt like frolicking (not caught on camera).

Soaking up the sun...

So, Edison loves to put the wastebasket on his head like a hat and prance around. I thought I'd catch him in the act this morning. What do you think?
