MLK Weekend at the Cabin

My mom came out for the long weekend and helped watch the kids at different times so we could ski. Karen and Frank also came out at the cabin for MLK weekend and we had fun playing card games with them. We had a ton of snow - snowing about 6" each day which was enchanting to be in the midst of.
Eben had to shovel out the windows as the snow was piling up around the cabin.
The kids had so much fun sledding.

Even Reed started to get into the action - first sledding with Edison and Charlotte, and later all by himself! And much to mom's relief - starting to walk back up the hill by himself!

 My snow angel!
On Monday we went skiing with Eric, Olivia, Margaret and Joseph. Charlotte and Margaret were tickled pink to ski together. They got so many compliments on the mountain - two five year old girls rocking it on skis! Plus lunch was super fun too! Charlotte is doing great on her skis - tackling Tye Mill, Gemini, and Big Chief without incident - focusing on her nice, big turns.

We got to ski with Auntie Karen, too, which was fantastic. Edison did an amazing job on the mountain - trying out Aquarius on the backside for the first time.

JANUARY - New Year's Day & Alton's Birthday!

Charlotte looking awesome in the Christmas bows!
Waking up on New Year's Day with Elmo. Reed is starting to sleep in the kids' bunkroom now!

Nana came out for New Year's so we were able to get some skiing time in. She and Reed had a lot of fun together.
Chris and Meg stopped by for the night, too!

Charlotte is practicing regularly with her rollerblades! She is getting quite agile on them.
We have also been able to spend time with friends in LFP - here is Charlotte, Margaret and Jenabel!
And we got to celebrate Alton's fourth birthday! It was super fun and Alton is getting to be so big and talkative!

New Year's Eve with Olivia and Eric

We got to spend another four days at the cabin over New Year's weekend this year. It was awesome! We had neighbors Olivia and Eric with their two kids, Margaret and Joseph, out to play in the snow and ring in the New Year. The sparklers were a huge hit and Eben dug out the fire pit and we had a nice roaring fire (once we got it going). We even managed to stay up until midnight this year! Yay!
