Halloween

We had a great Halloween - spent Sunday carving the pumpkins.
The kids looked online to find the faces they wanted to give the pumpkins.
Edison opted for a scary pumpkin (which was kind of surprising, actually), while Charlotte picked a goofy pumpkin. Edison went on a field trip on Friday to a pumpkin farm and brought home the little one - he picked a ghost for that one.
 They are magical at night.
On Halloween we did an afternoon trick-or-treating session at the Mill Creek Town Center.

Did I mention it was pouring rain?
But they still had a blast.

That night my dad came over for dinner and he and Eben took the kids trick-or-treating in our neighborhood while answered the door for our visitors. Kids in bed by 8:30, they brought home a ton of candy, most of which Eben and I will eat - not bad!

Eben's Birthday

Nana comes on Tuesday nights and stays over. On Wednesdays we have a "late morning" and the kids help her make crepes - we look forward to those mornings all week.
We celebrated Eben's birthday dinner at Kafe Neo in Mill Creek Town Center. The food was yummy: gyros, falafel and hummus, and the kids did a good job during the meal.
At four-and-a-half, Edison is very much into role play - here he and Charlotte are playing night-night.
For Eben's real birthday, we stayed at the Tulalip Casino Resort, just a few miles up the road. We had actually won the stay at the Shorecrest Booster Auction last March. We had a fabulous time.
Matt and Lisa got a room at the casino, too. It was lovely.
We found out after we made reservations that it was also the night of their big Halloween bash. So we planned our costumes. Lisa & I went as replacement referees while Matt and Eben dressed as the DirecTV football fairies.

We had a great time dancing and gambling.
On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a relaxing visit to the pool before heading back home to the real world.
