Brushing up on my knowledge about childbirth at Providence Hospital in Everett. Despite appearances, I felt prepared, having taken four classes offered by the hospital.

At Matt & Lisa's wedding, Ruby Beach, Washington - out on the Olympic Peninsula, May 24, 2008.

We had a great time on sharing this thoughtful, beautiful event with our best friends.
Following the ceremony, we went out for a wonderful sunset dinner at Kalaloch Lodge.

Spring 2008 - The Beginning!

Having heard stories about how much life changes when a new baby comes, Eben and I treated ourselves to a "babymoon" in Cannon Beach, Oregon the last weekend in March of 2008.

We had a great time hiking around the cliffs and dunes, but Eben was fearful that I would fall. I had to go out on this point alone.
The most noteworthy geological features of Cannon Beach are the remarkable "haystacks" scattered all over the beach.

We stayed at "Ecola Creek Lodge." We were pleasantly surprised by all the wild bunnies.
My work friends threw me a wonderful baby shower. Jeanette Derry hosted it - and it was fabulous.

With my gal, Sara McManus, a partner in crime from the Social Studies department at Shorecrest. She took really good care of me while I was pregnant, giving me special teas and other maternity indulgences.

This is my good friend, Maija, my classroom neighbor and Social Studies guru. She gave me tons of help and time my first year teaching at Shorecrest.

A late spring snow. I am around 6 months old at this point.

My family also threw me a baby shower - hosted by Aunt Kirstie. My friend Lisa came, too and won just about every baby shower game!

My mom and I got to wear funny sashes.
Of course Mormor (soon to be Bestamor) was reveling in it all. She got Edison his first nightlight, a sailboat.
