Floating the Yakima

I was able to float the Yakima River through this canyon section for the first time recently. This is something I have always wanted to do ever since my first drive through this canyon in 2000 in my VW van. It is so scenic and the river is super chill and peaceful. It feels like a green oasis in the middle of 95 degree heat and the water absolutely sparkles. So glad I could finally go!

Topped off the fun day with views from a roof top deck!

Swim Meets Week 3: Klahaya and Sheridan Beach

Klahaya was another close swim meet. Every race counted. We ended up losing by 16 points, but it made for a great night of competition and cheering. Charlotte had a couple best times and a BIG SMILE because of it!

Charlotte tried her first tennis competition this week. It ended up being a bit of a slow start. But it was good to see how the tennis meets work and what they're all about.

On Thursday we hosted Sheridan Beach and had a tropical theme to the meet. The kids got in the spirit and were looking good. I was able to grab Coach Matt for a picture - good thing as he is retiring after this season and we are going to really miss him.

I took on meet official duties with this fine crew. We may not always be on the ball, but we are trying our best and having fun. Still looking for a few more good team members!

The Aqua Club 13-14 crew.

Ridgecrest Hi-Cap alums from Sheridan and Aqua Club. Not going to lie -
the win that night felt good :-)

Music Monday at Sheridan Beach - Lago Vista Social Club

Sara and Team Z joined us for Music Mondays at Sheridan Beach. The first one of the season was Lago Vista Social Club - my friend Kip's band. They played an energetic set and had people grooving. The kids had fun running around and doing all the things. The highlight was getting a shoutout and a song dedication.... American Girl! I felt as giddy as a school girl!

Family Birthdays and Party

On Sunday, we got to see all our family at Jason and Tabby's house. We celebrated all the summer birthdays and enjoyed spending time with all the cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was a super hot day and it was nice to finish it off at the pool for open swim Sunday night. Everyone was there :-)

Summer at the Cabin - Rafting and Campfires

As much as I love our adventures, it was wonderful to return to the cabin with the kids for a summer weekend. We did all the things: campfire, hot tub, wood splitting, walk to town, and then got to enjoy a day rafting the Lower Wenatchee with the Birgfelds.

These kids are one with the water. They enjoyed floating down and walking up this eddy at our lunch stop.

Then, at Rodeo Hole, they kept jumping in and swimming the hole. They got really good at it. An informal poll at the end of the night proved that this was the most fun activity of the day and most favorite part of the river trip.

Relaxing and a good dinner at the cabin after the raft trip.

And we capped off the night with a campfire, s'mores, and mafia.
