A Very Snowy Midwinter Break!

We always envisioned how cool it would be to have a mountain cabin as a base for playing in the snow. After a slow start to winter, we got a huge dumping of snow - about three feet in three days - and were fortunate enough to be at the cabin for six days to enjoy it with Granddaddy David here, too. In the picture below, you can't even see the Crown Vic to the left of the Durango, because it is so buried in snow. Eben and I went snowshoeing right out the front door.

The kids went out to play in the snow morning, noon, and night - especially liking the sledding track in the yard.

Edison is also getting good with a snow shovel, helping daddy dig out the windows.
Reed and I spent a lot of time inside, just looking out the windows at the beautiful snow-covered pine trees.

Matt came over to watch the kids one day so that Eben and I could go skiing. There was a TON of fresh powder at Stevens Pass and we had an amazing day skiing, thanks to Matt. It dumped all day - we had to push the car out of the parking lot.
Back at home, Matt and Eben built a 10 foot tall snowman.

Finally it stopped snowing and the sun came out!

Granddaddy David is Here!

Granddaddy David is visiting for the next few weeks. He is spending most of his time at the cabin working on his latest book.
Reed is finally big enough for his bouncer! He loves it!

We got about 3 feet of snow this week. We have been fortunate enough to be at the cabin for MidWinter Break to enjoy it. Eben and Matt carved out a sledding hill complete with banked corners and a bowl shaped run-out at the bottom.

Kim and Dave Join Us at the Cabin

We have finally started getting snow at the cabin which makes it so much fun to go sledding with friends.
Kim and Dave joined us for the weekend and we had a blast playing with Tavis and Lily.

This is Charlotte's ski posture: she got to go skiing last weekend, but still needs a lot of practice.

FEBRUARY - Seahawks Win the Super Bowl!!! Plus Reed is Super Cute!

We were so excited to share in the Seahawks' first ever Super Bowl victory! 43-8, what an amazing score. It has been really fun to cheer them on this year.

Have I mentioned yet how much the kids ADORE their nanny Janine? Well - they do. Whenever I stay home with them now, they are totally bummed out because they miss Janine.
Reed continues to grow and change weekly. Here are the latest pictures:

A Visit with Maija and Eevi and a Birdseye View of Plain

Reed and I got to see Maija and Eevi last weekend. Eevi is now seven weeks old and a real peach.

Sometimes Reed seems so big - but then again, next to daddy, not so much.
The kids have enjoyed making pizza with Nanny Janine. It is actually pretty yummy!
Last weekend we hiked up Logger Bill's land to get a really cool bird's eye view of  Plain.
