Park City - Day 4: Sunshine, Corduroy, and Powder at the Canyons

Park City - Day 4: Another absolutely stunning blue sky day in the mountains with a bit of fresh snow on top of everything. The conditions were perfect and we were skiing the Canyons on this, our last, day. We found the best cup of hot cocoa (Summit House), skied "Pipe Dream" off Dreamcatcher to feel the rush. Worked the powder over off 9990 Express on runs like "94 Turns" and "Aspen Grove." We made the Orange Bubble our last chair of the vacation. What a day - what a wonderful time skiing together! We even got treated to an incredible sunset on our short (two-hour) plane ride home. Sigh.... now we start brainstorming ski vacation ideas for next year.

Park City: Day 3 - Very Chilly and Snowy at Park City Resort

Park City: Day 3. BRRRRR. It was chilly and snowing all day. We went back to Park City to ski today and the kids took turns picking runs after we were just trying to dodge the wind the first hour by skiing in a side valley. The days was full of lots of runs through the little terrain park with the kids pushing themselves to get air on the jumps. A few good runs through McConkey's Bowl and we somehow still managed over 20,000 despite the conditions.
It felt great to unwind in the condo pool that they keep at 96F (yes!) and finish it up with the second movie in the Hobbit trilogy.

Park City: Day 2 - Skiing the Canyons Area

Park City, Day 2: Holy cow, it was an open-to-close kind of day. No one wanted to stop because the skiing was so amazing. I haven't really been tracking our stats until recently and Stevens doesn't have that capability. But I think 32,000' vertical and 59 miles of distance is probably a record for us. Time to rest the legs in the hot tub and recover in time to do it again tomorrow!
We skied the Canyons area which used to be a separate resort. It was really awesome. Our favorite runs were of Ninety-Nine 90 into some amazing powder and tree-skiing through the aspens. We also thought it was fun to ski through the "Colony” area that has roads and bridges and fun features. We also liked skiing off of Super Condor Express - had some awesome, steep-pitched groomers that were super fun and fast.
