Presidents' Weekend with James and Robin

After coming to the cabin last weekend and finding the snow mostly melted and the creek running behind the house, we were very sad that winter was over. Fast forward one week and we just got a huge dumping on Saturday - about a foot over the course of the day - and we are back in business with the sledding trail and snowshoes. Thank goodness! We were fortunate to share the weekend with James and Robin and their kids: Skylar and Declan. The girls and younger boys paired up really well and played together all weekend.

Valentine's and Charlotte's Creation

Eben and I got to go out for a very nice dinner on Valentine's Day while my dad watched the kids. And look at these beautiful roses!
Charlotte checked out a kids' cookbook at the library and made this cool UFO sandwich. Very fun!
Gordon plaid poncho and kilt. She is almost ready for Shorecrest!

FEBRUARY - Swim Meet, Former Coach, and Projects

The kids had another swim meet last week. They went to both days of it and swam a ton of events. They got best times in almost every race! Woo Hoo! They are certainly working hard on technique and endurance! Here is Edison's 50 backstroke and Charlotte's 50 breaststroke.

I ran into a former high school coach of mine, Chris Erickson, who is still coaching - but now for Kamiak High School and SSCD. What fun! Feels great to be in the swim community again.
Here we were 21 years ago (also with coach Jennifer).
With so much indoor time in winter, the kids have been making some really cool projects. I am so proud of their creativity and hard work! Reed is able to focus well at school on his work and is starting to write his numbers and letters.
Edison made this cool map of geographical feartures.
Charlotte made a math board game called Kitten Class.
Rooting for the Patriots in yet another Superbowl. Unfortunately they didn't play well enough for the win today :-(     but it was fun to cheer for them nonetheless.
