Wallace Falls Hike with Sara and Company

Instead of our ski trip, Sara and Scott and her cousins and I switched gears from a ski day to a hike at Wallace Falls. It was actually a really beautiful hike. I had forgotten how nice it was when I grew used to going on it weekly as a camp counselor at neighboring Camp Huston.

I also ran into Jenny Farnam, from Shorecrest, on the hike!

Sun Peaks Day Two - Skiing with the Mitchells

After a yummy breakfast, we headed back out to the slopes for our second day of skiing, but our first day with the Mitchells. The condo was ski-in / ski-out which was awesome for convenience.

Sun Peaks has a super cute and walkable little village.

The highlight was getting fresh mini-donuts in the village. Yummmm!
Then we had a looooong drive home the next day. But we made it!

Sun Peaks - Drive Up and First Day Skiing

The day after Christmas the kids and I did a long haul drive up to Kamploops, BC. The drive up was crazy and the countryside felt boundless and very cold. It was beautiful. We spent the night in Kamloops at a nice hotel with a hot tub and the kids definitely loved making their waffles in the morning at the hotel breakfast.

The next morning we drove the remaining hour to Sun Peaks Resort for our first day of skiing. It was fun to explore a new area and the kids had fun reading the trail map and planning their runs. There is a ton of intermediate terrain here and the kids were bombing down all the runs.

A chair lift with a bubble?! Yes, please!

Had to come all the way across the mountain to check out the T-Bar. Good thing we did, the views were incredible.

After the lifts closed at 4:00, we met up with Trent, Rachelle, Kylee, and Keira at their ski condo. It was really fun to watch the kids play games and get along so well. And the hot tub was a super nice bonus!
