First Skiing of the Season!

Reed likes his new swing (thanks Sara!) - so therefore, I LOVE his swing!
Loving being a big brother! It is so helpful when Edison gives Reed his bottle.

It is now about 30 degrees in Plain, so time to bundle up when heading outdoors.

Stevens Pass opened last weekend. Eben took Edison and Charlotte out individually while I waited in the lodge with Reed and the other child. Lots of work, but worth it, we think it will pay off. Edison had a great day, skiing on Daisy, Hogsback and the Skyline lift! He kept asking how fast he was going.

On Monday Kim came over with Tavis and Lilly. It was so nice to spend the morning with them.

Day of Thanks, Reed at 10 weeks, Icicle River Exploration

Last Thursday was the "Day of Thanks" at Small World Montessori. Both Edison's class and Charlotte's class brought in ingredients to make a special soup that was shared with parents after a short program of singing by the students. Edison and Charlotte reported helping make the soup by chopping veggies and mixing them up. Now they want to make soup at home - stay tuned!

Reed is awake now for the hour after he eats. He likes to spend time on his playmats checking out his surroundings. Here he mimics big brother and sister. His new alertness has helped me take more pictures of him!

We went exploring up the Icicle River valley last weekend. Snow has started to fall in the region and it won't be long until they close the roads. But it was fun to get out and enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful, boulder-strewn Icicle River preceded by a delicious lunch at the Sleeping Lady Resort's cafe which is now our favorite eating spot in the Leavenworth area.

NOVEMBER - Getting Ready for Winter

Charlotte brought home a really impressive globe last week. She traced each continent and then used push pins to punch them out before gluing them onto the balloon.
Two months old and more alert every day.

We drove up the White River a ways until we found some snow - just enough for a snowman.

Being in the snow made us realize we should have the kids try on their ski stuff to make sure we are ready when the slopes open - hopefully only a couple weeks from now.

Nana visited us at the cabin and we went hiking up to Hidden Lake. It was the perfect beginner hike for the kids and a good way to get outdoors on a chilly November day.

Happy Halloween from a Dinosaur and a Firefighter

We went to the Mill Creek Town Center again this year for some afternoon trick-or-treating.
Charlotte was supposed to be a firefighter, too, but had a last minute change of heart to the dinosaur. The dinosaur was handed down from cousin Harry who pretty much lived in it the whole year he was three. I ran out of energy to dress up Reed. In retrospect I should have made a palm tree to put next to him as his sling already looks like a hammock...

They designed their pumpkins this year - very cool!
We had the Ninja Turtles - Dillon and Liam - over for dinner and night time trick or treating.

Last weekend we celebrated birthdays for my mom and Eben at Kirstie's house. It was great spending time with the family again.

Edison currently has two very wiggly teeth (top middle and bottom middle). It is hard to believe he is already old enough for loose teeth!
Reed is now two-months old. He weighed exactly 9 lbs at his check up - adjusting for his gestational age he is at 50% height/weight for his age. We are so proud and happy that he is growing!
