School, Playdates, and Lacrosse

Reed and Kellan had a great time on their Wednesday playdate. Lots of teachable moments came out of it - including this one - aka - don't EVER climb in the yard waste bin to play ever again!

Charlotte had another stellar lacrosse game. She got a ground ball on defense and had a great pass to Bryn to clear it away from the goal.

It has been a long time since this "oldie but goodie" of a game came out to play - Sequence still is fun!

Charlotte's first try at cooking eggs inside toast on the griddle. They came out great! Love that she made mine heart shaped.

Lacrosse in Anacortes and May Family Get Together

We started the morning at the cabin, then drove to Anacortes for a lacrosse game. We got there early enough to do a picnic lunch at Cap Sante lookout. It was incredible and such a gorgeous day to look out over the water and the town and see what everyone was up to.

Reed took care of Romeo with great care at the lacrosse game and even earned some dog sitting money.

Meanwhile the girls had a good game and big smiles!
Then we drove to Bellevue for the May family get together and birthday celebration. Reed had a blast playing with Isaac.

And we celebrated these four wonderful women by honoring their birthdays.

Charlotte got outfitted with her own lacrosse gear. Which lets Reed play with the things she was using. He is pretty into it now, too - probably will need to find him a team next year.

Marina and Tomas visit the Cabin and we Raft

On a last minute chance, Marina and Tomas were free to join us at the cabin for the first part of the weekend. We were able to enjoy fires and s'mores for two nights and lots of good time to play hide and seek and Magic cards.

The highlight was our trip down the Upper Wenatchee. It was running at about 10,000 cfs, so we were traveling about 4 mph. It made the trip from the boat ramp at the lake to the washout past the cabin go by swiftly. We also lucked out on the weather and got up to 80 degrees - warm enough to pull off wetsuits and soak in the sunshine.

Big Red, Charlotte's First Lacrosse Game, and Mother's Day

I've been doing more hiking when I go out to work on the cabin. This was a hike on Nason Ridge overlooking Lake Wenatchee and had views of Dirty Face, too. At the top of the Ridge, you can see over to the Enchantments. The best part though was "Big Red," a giant ponderosa, along the trail.

Charlotte had her first lacrosse game on Mother's Day. What a treat for me to watch her play. She did great and had a lot of fun - even better.

We took my mom to the Olympic Sculpture Park for Mother's Day. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we enjoyed every second of it. The kids actually liked hearing the description of each sculpture and learning the secrets about each one.

We had dinner at a delicious pizza place in Belltown before the dinner rush.

And to cap it all off - a Mother's Day cake that was so chocolatey and indulgent. Charlotte wrote a nice card, Reed drew me a great picture of myself (LOL) and Edison made a computer program to wish me Happy Mother's Day.

The rest of the week was school, swimming, legos, and a special popsicle treat after swim.
